LangCorrect is a writing community. The homepage, checked 1 Sep 2026, says you keep a journal in the language you are learning. Native speakers correct it sentence by sentence and explain why. You correct journals in a language you already speak.
That is a different job from a live italki lesson or a HelloTalk chat thread. The fit test is whether you will post a short Japanese entry and actually read the corrections.

Free and Premium both list unlimited journal entries, unlimited peer corrections, and unlimited writing prompts. Premium adds side-by-side corrections, a supporter badge, priority queue placement, ten languages at once instead of two, photo attachments, export as CSV, JSON, or Markdown, and posting without the correction ratio.
Monthly Premium is listed at $8.99. Annual is listed at $69.99, shown as $5.83 a month. Checkout is Stripe. Yearly plans are refundable within 7 days of the first purchase. The pricing page says Premium members will get the LangCorrect iOS app first. This profile does not treat iPhone as a current platform.
Community rules that affect the writing job
The community guidelines, last updated 9 Aug 2026, ask members to correct journals or answer questions. Failure to give back may cost privileges. Machine-generated or machine-translated text presented as your own writing is prohibited in entries and in corrections. The same page bans dating use, temporary email signups, and posting in a language other than the one the entry is marked as.
Write a few sentences you actually produced. A community prompt is enough. Do not paste a model answer and ask people to polish it.
The privacy policy says the service is not designed for minors under 13. Account data includes name, email, password, and native or studying languages. Journal posts, messages, and comments are stored. Data is hosted in San Francisco.
Limits
LangCorrect does not replace grammar study. Correction quality varies because peers vary. It is not a speaking appointment. If you need a teacher who will follow a plan, book one lesson instead.
The 30 Aug 2026 changelog describes an early messaging preview, including Japanese among the first community-chat languages. Treat that as a preview, not the reason to join.
