Natively is a catalog of native books, movies, and TV with community difficulty grades. The Japanese browse is the Japanese shelf. Users compare two titles they finished. Those comparisons feed an Elo rating. The site also tracks reading and discloses Amazon affiliate links on purchase buttons.
It is a chooser, not a reading tutor. NHK News Web Easy and Tadoku still own finishable input when native books are too hard.
Who it fits
It fits people who can already finish easy native pages and need a next title that is not a random Amazon bestseller. Pairwise grades are relative: a 15 is harder than a 5. The published color key maps bands to approximate JLPT levels and says that mapping is a guess.
Temporary grades show as ?? until a few comparisons land. Textbooks are excluded from user grading.
Limits
Natively does not teach the book. It does not replace Yomitan lookup. Amazon links on the site are Natively’s affiliate disclosure, not ours. Confirm current account rules on the official site before you treat lists as a syllabus.
